Established in 1987, the Moorabbin Area Toy Library is a not-for-profit organisation which has been supporting local families with the tools for play for over 30 years. We are run by a dedicated and passionate volunteer committee and member volunteers. We are open 4 times per week, and ensure that every session is staffed by a friendly and experienced session co-ordinator who can assist with all of your borrowing needs.
For just a small annual fee we provide members with a diverse, continuously evolving collection of toys for loan to support the ever-changing play needs of babies through to older children. Our Toy Library community is welcoming, inclusive and supportive, enabling families to connect with one another through volunteering and events, and encouraging children of all ages and abilities to enjoy learning through play.
We aim provide a diverse collection of toys for a wide range of developmental needs, ages and interests, that provide a variety of learning and play experiences for a diverse group of members.
When it comes down to it play is all about fun. We are passionate about providing a fantastic range of toys to support children of all ages (parents included!) to have fun while they play, and most likely there will be some learning hiding in there somewhere too!
The ethos of a Toy Library is based upon sharing resources amongst a community of members. We love being a valued part of the wider community, bringing families together to celebrate all things ‘play’, and sharing support, information and community-minded values along the way.
Our future is in the hands of our children. We are proud to enable families to reduce their environmental footprint through borrowing rather than buying, and extending the useful life of the wonderful toys in our collection through many years of play.
